CPAP / BiPAP
A CPAP/BiPAP machine is used for patients who have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Obstructive Sleep Apnea is when a person stops breathing while they are sleeping. The reason they stop breathing is that their airway collapses and this prevents air from getting into their lungs.
When using CPAP/BiPAP therapy, breathing becomes regular, oxygen level in the blood becomes normal, restful sleep is restored over time, quality of life is improved, and the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and vehiculat or work accidents are reduced.
